Canine’s guide to killing the KBD

The King Black Dragon is the king of all dragons (ok, some weird explosion happened and some mithril dragons were made, but they don’t count. . . . . ), and was once the only monster to drop the Dragon Medium Helmet, which sadly, is now considered a noob thing (darn you slayer skill!). This Dragon can be easily killed in a team, as long as your team doesn’t all tele away except for that noob who always forgets the Anti-Dragon shield (happened to me once =[ ). The only cautions that must be taken is to not let your life drop below 30 killing him the standard way, and to bring an Anti-Dragon shield, as without it the kbd can hit up to 57 (insert pwnage pic here). The KBD has around 257 (? Confirm please, I’m not sure on this ?) hp and has 3 different fire attacks, A poison breath which hits poison up to 8 (becomes a real drain on food), An Ice breath that lowers your stats, and a Fire Breath that hit’s the most, up to 57, which is why an Anti-Dragon/Dragonfire shield is highly recommended.
REQUIREMENTS
STANDARD -
Warrior

Best possible melee armour and best weapon, make sure it is not a 2 handed weapon, else, (ownage pic again).
Archer-

Bring 2 types of bolts, best d’hide or even Karil’s. you MUST bring ruby (e) bolts and a crossbow, no 2-H bow. I recommend snakeskin boots as they are not expensive and give a decent range bonus (try replacing 2m lost from ranger boots if you die). Same deal with a coif, archer helm is incredibly cheap.
VOID -
Only point is void melee is in teams of 4-8, else the kbd’s melee and fire attacks will rip right through you.
Void archer-
(Void picture here, currently not available.)
Same thing as Standard archer, really not too complicated. . . .right? Right? RIGHT?
COMPLETELY UN-RECCOMENDED FOR BEGINNERS, SERIOUSLY!
Atm I don’t have neither an anchor, a gs, so I’ll leave this place blank unless one of you has an anchor or something else that I would need for the “unorthodox” methods.
INVENTORY-

Teleport tabs/runes.
Anti-poison (in this case a super anti-poison).
A games necklace. (explained later).
Food ( monks are cheap enough so that you’ll guarantee profit almost every trip, applies to melee only).
GETTING THERE -

Not too hard, if you are on a large team, pray range if a revenant comes close, as their range attack freezes, in a small team, pray mage, as that attack can teleblock you, thus preventing you from using the portal room.
Start in BH (highly recommended, use a games necklace to teleport there), run east to the obelisk, and once you reach the obelisk in lvl 44 wilderness, run east, kbd lair is only one screen away.
Once in the portal room, run in and pull the lever in sync with your teammates (again I have been betraed at this point, they all held back from entering, I solo’d the KBD for that kill and left my sorry team alone, and got a d med

).
First kill pray mage and have your team kill quickly, using other combat prayers, then go to the circle of coins and rings, surround it in a nice circle, and prepare for the real killing now.
THE KILLING -
As soon as you rush in the room, pray that the room is occupied by a small, weak team that is low on food, that way you wont be forced to control an untamed KBD running around the room. Surround the kbd, remembering that it will always respawn in the same place. A perfectly circled kbd reduces the damage on your team greatly, and with my very trained team of regular KBD’ers, we can get 45-73 kills, while I can only get 19-53 kills (both my lowest and highest) on a team with equal or greater levels that doesn’t know how to surround the kbd. If you are low on food, pray melee or mage (personal preference, if low on hp I really recommend praying mage).
here are some pics to show you the way to triangle (I lost the duo pic) and show you a high hit with Ruby (e) bolts (I didn't screenie when I hit 48

)

THE AFTERMATH- After you are too low on food for another kill, use the games necklace to bank your loot and withdraw more food, and repeat the steps to getting to the kbd lair. “What are the teleport runes/teletabs for then?” whenever you feel you can last another kill, and end up with no food, kbd still has high hp, try using a games necklace, the kbd’s attack will interrupt it, just teleport to wherever you want and then right back to Bounty Hunter.
this was a horrible trip in comparison to my previous ones, and a team mate got 100 yew logs

Tips & Tricks.
The ranger is highly recommended to stay in the kbd’s melee range while praying melee, that way the kbd will hit you with his normal attacks more then with his firebreath attacks, and since your praying melee, you’ll take even less damage.
Bring your best beast of burden summon with 1 or 2 spaces empty, the rest loaded with more food. (on small and weak teams, just pack those spaces with food). This gives you Space incase you get lots of drops early to store the drops.
Credits- Myself, I even got my own pics.
And Zhao Yun 56 for making this forum on which my guide is post-able.
